We tried a few restaurants in Market Harborough, but ever since we tried Shagorika, we have stopped going anywhere. It was so good, the food tastes great and the service is very attentive. They like to give the ladies of the party a red carnation as they leave, which is a nice touch. I sometimes have a large collection of carnations on the window sill. It is definitely the best Indian restaurant we have ever been to, and better than a lot of the other generic restaurants in the area. I can't recommend it enough.

I couldn't live without the Shagorika restaurant. The best Indian food I have ever tasted. I am going for one, tonight in fact. Try it sometime.

We've been going to the Shagorika for more than 20 years. We rate the food as being superb. Over the past thirty years, either through business travel or through holidays, we've visited Indian restaurants throughout the UK. Two in Scotland, one in Glasgow and one in Chepstow South Wales have come close to being as good as the Shagorika but not quite as good - either the texture of the food or the taste has let them down. The Shagorika is truly the best in taste and in texture.
Review by alanmsq (17 January 2010) I eat at and have takeaways from the Shagorika regularly, and have reviewed the restaurant before, but the food and service at a recent family party for ten of us was so good that I'm compelled to post another review. We set a budget in advance and left the choice of dishes to the restaurant - and it was all just superb. We enjoyed an excellent selection of mild to spicy dishes, including meats and vegetables, rices and breads, with discreet but friendly service and most of all they really made us feel welcome. Really can't fault it - many thanks to all the staff.

I was recently invited out to this restaurant by a friend, and looked it up on the internet first to get the address. If I had read the reviews before the booking I would never had gone. I don't normally eat Indian food but found the restaurant to be extremely friendly, the staff were courteous, very helpful - making recommendations which they felt I would like and the food was piping hot and very tasty. We had hot towels given to us afterwards and the atmosphere was very friendly but still allowed us privacy. I would highly recommend it.

We've eaten at Shagorika many times over the past couple of years since we relocated to a village near Market Harborough. This medium sized restaurant is in the old school style of Indian venues with cozy booths and fancy wallpaper rather than in the contemporary, minimalist decor style, which all new places tend to employ.

The menu states this is a family run restaurant and the staff are certainly all very friendly. One waiter even popped over to say hello when he recognised us shopping nearby one afternoon.

The food is very good there......easily the best in Harborough and good value for money. There are several unique dishes here worth exploring, the chicken kabilla is a personal favourite and the chasni is something a bit different on the milder end of the spectrum. Of course, all the old favourites are available too. There are Indian lagers available on draft and bottled and the takeaway service has always been spot on when we've tried it. Highly recommended!

This is a basic takeaway and sit-down Indian restaurant. Saturdays are curry nights and our family prefers eating there. The food is above average with a good selection of the usual, plus not-so-usual curries and specialities. The friendly staff remember your face as well as your name and this makes a difference.

Although we live 12 miles away, and there are seven or more Indian restaurants nearer to us, we seem to be drawn back to the Shagorika. Maybe it's the friendly staff, maybe the comfortable atmosphere, but I believe it to be the lure of the lovely dishes and the always tender chicken there. Well worth the few extra miles.
